Curious about how the Certified HOA Advisor membership works? We’ve gathered the most frequently asked questions—along with straightforward answers—to help guide you.

 

The Certified HOA Advisor certification is a self-paced online course with interactive video modules and quizzes covering HOA structures, disclosure requirements, document retrieval, how to read and present the REX Report, buyer and seller workflows, overcoming buyer and seller HOA objections, and how to protect your clients in HOA-impacted transactions. Upon completion, you earn the Certified HOA Advisor designation. 
 

Certified members unlock access to:

  • quarterly Q&A sessions
  • Certified HOA Advisor (HOAA) designation

 

Short answer, yes. However, without the certification, agents will not receive multi-channel live support, a clear understanding of documents and the REX Report, quarterly HOA Q&A sessions, and the knowledge it takes to be an HOA Advisor. The Certification through AO protects you, your clients, and the integrity of every transaction. 
This is a self paced course of short topic specific videos that can be completed in 2-3 hours.
The designation is the only national certification that identifies real estate professionals who are trained and qualified in HOA transactions. It signals to clients, brokerages, and colleagues that you know this space better than anyone else in the room — and that you have the tools and expertise to back it up. 
A one-time initial fee of $399 gives you access to everything at Association Online, plus the Certified HOA Advisor designation, live support throughout your transactions, quarterly Q&A sessions, unlimited access to training videos, and more. After your initial year, the membership is $99 annually. 
NAR members receive a $50 discount.
 

 

Yes. The Certified HOA Advisor membership is open to individual real estate agents and groups (brokerages, associations, MLS, boards, etc) across the country.
Brokerage and team enrollment is available. Contact us using this form to discuss group enrollment options, group pricing, and how we can onboard your entire team efficiently.

Once you complete the membership form, our team will create an account for you. You will receive a welcome email along with a payment link. Once paid, you can dive in to the course!

Complete the course at your own pace, pass the final assessment, earn your Certified HOA Advisor designation, and unlock full benefits from AO.
